Making Money With Google Adsense
by: Shayne Genoway © 2008
Google Adsense has become one of the most powerful tools in a Webmaster's arsenal, enabling them to monetize their websites much easier. When used properly, Google Adsense can generate a healthy extra-added-income most webmasters would otherwise not have had at their disposal in the past.

Earning money with Adsense is almost instantaneous, once the ads are strategically placed on your website.

Here then are a few simple Keys to Adsense Success.

ARTICLES
Start with quality content articles that have been search engine optimized (SEO). It would be nice if you are writing your own articles to target those keywords important to each page on your website. Naturally, not everyone is a gifted writer, able to churn out articles on a daily basis for their website. Don't dispaair, just enlist the services of a good ghost writer to turn out articles on your behalf. However you do it, make it work to insure that you will be earning your piece of the Google Adsense pie.

Write original content with keywords from the information that you have gathered from your search. Note that search engines take pride in originality and quality of articles produced, and you should therefore write to appease their voracious appetite.

A Quality content Website is important, so make the effort to build a quality content Website incorporating Adsense ads targeting the subject matter and keywords on your webpages. This is where your hard work and search efforts pay off in making good choices.

Let's not forget ocation, location, location. You've heard it said many times, I'm sure, and it was never so important as good positioning of your Adsense ads. Proper ad positioning should be done thoughtfully, with care to maximize click throughs. Place ads front and center where visitors from search queries are most likely to click on them, after all that is what this is all about, right.

Never for one moment forget that the reason you are incorporating Google Adsense into your Website pages is for visitors to click on them. Otherwise, don't even bother if your aim is to relegate the ads to some obscure part of your Website so the Ads are barely visible. What would be the point?

Some Locations are better than others. Research has indicated the first place a visitor's eyes will land upon when arriving at a Website is on the top left of the page. I don't ever remember reading anywhere why this is so, but it might have something to do with the fact the major links on most Websites are located on the left hand side. So naturally having grown accustomed to scanning those links first, it's the first place our eyes gravitate to.

Helpful tools to assist your efforts. Especially check out the Google Adsense site which includes all kinds of tools, articles, and information to help you make Adsense money. It is to their benefit that you succeed, and to that end they have done a Great job of providing all manner of tools and tracking devices to aid and assist Webmasters and Publishers using Adsense.

Some excellent tracking statistics by Google allow Webmasters to track results on a site-by-site and page-by-page basis, along with a number of other key features. Work at familiarizing yourself with the tools available from Google Adsense, and take advantage of them to assist in finding out which ads are performing best on which pages. Otherwise, you could be needlessly focusing your best efforts on the wrong places for the wrong reasons.

Google Adsense has worked hard to provide you with the means to fine tune your Adsense ads so you can focus on the areas which will reap the most benefits for you, and not on those areas which may be altogether ignored by visitors to your site.

In closing, let me just reiterate what has already become common knowledge throughout the Webmaster community, Banner ads and Skyscrapers are dead.

I compare it to what I term soft ads (Adsense Ads), and hard ads (in-your-face Banner Ads). When a visitor lands on your Webpage a Banner ad implies in no uncertain terms, "I am an advert, look at Me!" These ads are universally ignored immediately without even being given a passing glance. It is not why people have arrived on your Website for in the first place, just ask the experts. Bottom line, it is to your advantage to forget about banners and skyscrapers.

To really start making Google Adsense money, define and focus on what it is you want to achieve. Spare the time to make adjustments, check your statistics, look at your ad tracking numbers to account for changes and new trends that could otherwise sneak up on you causing a drop in your click-ons.

With a little time and patience there really is no reason why Adsense should not become a staple part of extra-added-income to your Website. Just work the plan, and plan to work.

Good luck, and do not waste another moment if you have not already joined the Google Adsense revolution.
