There's nothing people love more than having access to things not available to other people.
They enjoy thinking they may be one of the privileged few on the inside track, privy to things and information others might not have access
to, and it is a marketing tool that really pays dividends when used with an autoresponder.
It also works best when it is limited in some way. For instance, you
can grant access for a limited time, to only a few lucky people, to those subscribers
who have stuck with you over the years, or limited to certain pages, files, directories.
And you can do all this with an autoresponder.
The way it works is really quite simple.
Create a directory on your website, make it password protected with one login and password
everyone can use. Create valuable content worth the value of belonging to this select
group. Call it your "Secret Vault" or "VIP Members Only", or "Money Making Secrets", or whatever
you can come up with as long as it is unique and special, and something people can't wait
to get their hands on.
If it is directed at people who want to learn how to make extra money, you might use,
"The Secrets That Skyrocketed My Earnings Overnight". Then once you get the directory and
the pages set up, put the URL of the pages and the login name, and password in an
autoresponder. Next, compose a sales page and send it out to your opt-in list, and don't
forget to "limit" the offer. Remember they want to assume they are the only ones with access to this
special directory, so make sure that is covered in your sales letter to this special group
of people.
Access to this unique directory must also be a free privilege accorded to your special group,
so don't forget to impress that point to them. Your major objective in setting up this very
special directory is so these people will purchase your products or services.
Therefore never lose sight of the original idea, to offer them something of great value for
free as soon as they login for the first time. Never think that you might ever lose money by
giving something of value away for free, it just won't happen. In fact, you will already have
been ahead of the game by having collected the names and addresses of people interested in your
free offer. Sit back and watch your list grow.
Don't underestimate this great marketing tactic that really works well, when used properly with an
autoresponder. Once you add new people to your list who have requested information about your
private VIP pages, then make a point of emailing them periodically, using your autoresponder, to update them
on new products, special offers, along with any other freebies you might have in store for them.
Remain fair, honest, and consistent with your list, and loyalty will be your reward in terms of
steady sales.
