Blogging Your Small Business Success Over The Top |

Blogging to enhance your business is still a relatively new idea with lots of
potential for entrepreneurs with insight, determination, and a basic understanding
of today's innovative web technology.
However, there seems to be no shortage of small business owners who have started
blogging, recognizing that the potential benefits far out weigh any irritants of
having to learn something new.
Unlike websites which are built and then loaded to the Internet to promote products
24/7 without the need of constant updates or changes, blogging demands more dedication to
attention; attention to detail; attention to daily postings to keep the material
fresh and alive; attention to encouraging visitors comments, good or bad, and attention
to presenting information in a manner which will influence them to more frequently check
back on your blog, in the event they may have missed something important you had to say.
Bear in mind that a lot of the visitors who read blogs are bloggers themselves, and
someone might say, "well, what's the use in playing to other bloggers, I want real
customers dropping in on my blog."
It's a good point to bring up, but not a valid point based on reality. Bloggers are
not people who spend their entire waking life blogging, well, okay, there may
be the odd one or two fanatics. But, generally, bloggers are no different than you or I,
hard working stiffs who hope their blogging efforts will one day thrust them into the
blogosphere of self-sustainibility, where they would no longer need to depend on their regular
income to pay the bills. We already see evidence where that has happened in some cases.
Truth is they use the same products everyone else uses, and come from every walk of life;
street cleaners, lawyers, factory workers, dentists, fire fighters, cherry pickers, accountants,
barbers, priests, ministers, rabbi's.
If your business is built on a certain niche product, there will be bloggers who are already
involved in that very same niche who might be happy to provide more insight on how to better
position your product to reap more rewards which you may not be unaware of, bloggers are generally
like that, helpful, or they may wish nothing more than to network with you.
Bloggers are customers like you and I, who spend money on products they need or want. And what
should never be overlooked is that the blogging community alone is a world-wide potential
customer base numbering millions of people. That's some community to promote your product(s)
to, nor to be underestimated, and that is not even taking into account the next wave of
potential customers on top of that, those people who do not blog.
So is blogging important to your business? I think you already know the answer to that question.
Business Blogging out of necessity is destined to evolve into something much more complicated
as time unfolds, and the old story about being left behind was never more so than it is today.
And if you are still hedging, think about these points:
- Blogging is free.
- It costs nothing to join, and the rewards are tenfold compared to not getting involved.
- You can have as many blogs in operation as you can handle.
- This might not be so forever, so better to take advantage of it now.
- It translates into free advertising you might not otherwise have for your business.
- It is a time to learn something new at no cost to you, while positioning yourself for the future in
never having to say...
"Damn, I wish I would have taken advantage of the opportunity when I had the chance years ago."
