Here's 10 Powerful Reasons For Your Visitors To Stay Longer |
by:

1. Give your visitors a quality, gotta-have-it-at-any-cost freebie to encourage them to leave their name and email address to help grow your mailing list.
2. Talk about your product, but also talk beyond your product with topical items of interest; like why you particularly like the product yourself. How it saves you time, money, adds to your enjoyment of life, even how your family is really into it. Talk from the heart, get personal and give them a reason to continue reading.
3. Believe that Content is King and Banner ads receive the least amount of attention. Include referrals from happy customers, vistors read referrals. Have them include a picture to be posted alongside their referral. They will return a hundred times just to see themselves on your website, not to mention the friends and relatives they will also tell about their picture being online.
4. If your site is about oranges and visitors purposefully arrive at your site to see your oranges, then make sure everything about oranges is front and center before you start talking apples, bananas, or figs. Don't confuse them, and don't make them dig to find the oranges.
5. It seems that everyone wants to join a club of some kind these days. I'm sure it's a genetic thing from our cavemen days. Take advantage of that urge by marketing your web site as a free club instead of a sales page. Build a big enough membership and you have the making of a lucrative customer base.
6. People want to know you care about them, and you accomplish this by encouraging two-way communication with your online customers on a regular basis. It also gives them a feeling of being on the inside track about what's going on at your site.
7. Make sure visitors leave your website with a positive experience. Original content first and foremost, followed by freebies, then your products - subtle, not in-your-face.
8. Become interactive with visitors by utilizing polls, and/or seek their advice on new products you are evaluating to get their impressions, and to also make them feel you value their contributions. Encourage them to contribute articles on their online buying experiences, good, bad, or indifferent. Add a product forum to your site.
9. Run two contests side-by-side. One for all visitors arriving at your site, and the other for "members only". Let everyone know members can enter both contests, it's one of the many privledges they get for joining, and should help pick up a few more names. Visitors are entitled to only enter the one contest.
Make sure to collect names, email addresses, and choose a winner for both contests. Announce the winners on your website, and in your weekly newsletter. Include a picture if you can of the happy recipient. Don't embarrass yourself with a cheap, outdated, freebie gift. Make it something substantial and worthy of leaving their name.
10. Sell the sizzle not the steak. Don't tell everyone how good your product(s) is, they already assume it's good otherwise you would not be promoting it on your website. Instead, explain how it will improve their lives, make them happier, healthier, take years off their life because it will relieve stress, and ensure they have extra spending money in their pocket from savings on the product.
Sell the sizzzzzzle, then give them the steak to go with it.
